material and construction
For the constructions of our boards we use only the best materials on the market.
The foam that we use is EPS-Blank which has a high density (20kg/m3); used to give a higher density to the board.
The blank is laminate with 165g/m² glass. The bottom sandwich-plate is 5 mm (Herex c70/90; 100kg/m³), the deck with a plate of c70/130kg/m³.
Mast- and Fin-Boxes are reinforced with Herex foam. In the heel-area is reinforced with double sandwich.
The Laminate on the outside consist of 165g/m2 Carbon-Kevlarfiber and 165g/m2 glass.
All Sandwich- and Fiberwork are done in the vacuum and 65 degrees tempered in a oven.
This guarranted the best contact between the different materials with lowest part of resin.
Finally we paint the boards with (car) acrylic paint which is very resistant to UV rays and scratches. We have a wide range of colours, including metallic. lt is also possible to give it a wooden finish, available in sailboards, surfboards and kiteboards.
All the new MAGMA boards have a one-year guarantee.
Development and Innovation
MAGMA relies on the collaboration of people like Achille (design), Helmut (shapes), Stephan Etienne, Frank Klapp, Raoul Lequertier and the Fuerteventura Volkswagen Team, for the development and evolution of the boards, rockers.
From the factory to the beach there are no more than 5 minutes and after a good session everybody takes a short break in the factory. This is a good advantage to discuss the dirfferent opions to the tested boards. The result of this collaboration is, that we shape boards for using under each condition.
All Innovations are transfered so directly in the next board.
